Seventh Son Brewing Co.

Seventh Son Brewing sits in the Italian Village neighbourhood, just off North Fourth Street, and has been one of Columbus’s most consistently well-regarded craft breweries since it opened. The taproom is comfortable and unpretentious — exposed brick, wooden tables, and enough space that it doesn’t feel cramped even when it fills up. The tap list rotates regularly and covers IPAs, lagers, stouts, and seasonal releases. They know what they’re doing with the beer, and the quality is consistent across styles. There’s no full kitchen, but food trucks park outside on most evenings, and the nearby Short North and Italian Village streets have plenty of options if you want to eat before or after. It’s a good spot for a couple of pints rather than a full night out, which suits most people perfectly well. The venue is about a five-minute drive from central Short North and has street parking on surrounding streets. It tends to draw a mix of after-work crowds during the week and a busier social crowd on Fridays and Saturdays. If you’re looking for a lower-key evening option that doesn’t involve a sports bar or a venue playing music too loud to hold a conversation, Seventh Son is one of the better calls in Columbus.
